Climate Action

Coralville has a strong history of responding to the climate crisis, whether through conservation efforts or watershed management. A Climate Action plan provides us an opportunity to be a statewide leader in the urgent fight against climate change.
This will include:

• Assembling a diverse community task force charged with developing a bold Coralville Climate Action plan, which will detail actionable steps to be taken by the City, local businesses, and residents.

• Advocating for curbside pick-up of organics, glass, and single stream recycling.

• Developing a second and more accessible recycling drop-off center.

• Continuing to support the efforts of the Clear Creek Watershed Coalition.

• Attracting climate-conscious and green companies to Coralville, so young professionals continue to have opportunities as our economy adapts to the new reality.
